GCS would like to outline it's business continuity plan following the Prime Minister’s announcement yesterday (12th March 2020) regarding the UK's updated response to the Coronavirus Covid-19 pandemic.
Hand/Personal Hygiene:
All staff members have been fully informed and advised onthe importance of hand hygiene, in line with the instructions from Public Health England and the NHS. They have been provided with documented versions of these instructions, and workplace posters and information sheets are clearly visible. Soaps and sanitising products have been made readily available, with offices signposted for prompt use of the same.
Drivers:
In the interest of containing the spread of the virus, drivers have been advised to sign Proof of Delivery dockets on behalf of the consignee where possible. They are also supplied with hand sanitiser products.
Virtual Working:
At present, there has been no mandatory work from home procedures implemented by the UK or Irish Government and all GCS offices remain open and fully functioning. In order to minimise travel, however, international trips have been cancelled and meetings replaced with calls and virtual meetings. GCS is also taking the necessary steps to allow non-essential personnel to work remotely should the need arise.
Maintaining Service:
The continuity of service is the highest priority, and we are providing the same level of service and resource as at any other time, and intend to continue operating at full capacity. GCS will comply with any and all instruction from regulatory agents and governmental organisations.
We are working with our key partners and suppliers to ensure no disruption in service, and will continue to monitor the situation, updating this page as necessary.
Communication:
We ask that should you require any changes to your service, or make amendments to your protocols, that these are communicated in a timely manner to your account handling team:
Ongoing:
GCS services continue as normal. We are committed to maintaining all our services, with every effort made to minimise any disruption.
GCS will continue to monitor the situation, and government broadcasts, taking appropriate action where necessary.
